World Bank/Dominic Chavez

A new World Bank report “Standing Tall: Peru's Success in Overcoming its Stunting Crisis” explains how the country more than halved its stunting rates among children under five from 28 percent in 2008 to 13 percent in 2016. Peru’s success reducing stunting is documented in Nourishing millions: Stories of change in nutrition along with several other success stories in nutrition.

Additional highlights from this week’s Compact2025 News in Brief include:

  • FAO and legislators in the Philippines launch pilot parliamentary alliance for food security and nutrition.
  • USAID’s Accelerating Behavior Change in Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture online training helps practitioners learn how to integrate behavior change methods into nutrition-sensitive agriculture practices.
  • The 5th Responsible Business Forum on Food & Agriculture will convene over 500 decision makers to discuss how to scale collaboration to achieve the SDGs in Asia.
