IFPRI, FAO North America, and the Food Security Information Network will host a technical discussion on the 2019 Global Report on Food Crises on April 26 in Washington, D.C. Panelists will discuss country experiences and global responses following the report’s call for strengthened cooperation that links prevention, preparedness, and response to address urgent humanitarian needs.

Additional highlights from this week’s Compact2025 News in Brief include:

  • A paper from the Achieving Sustainable Nutrition for All project shares nutrition policy and program recommendations based on evidence and learnings from Uganda and Zambia.
  • An ODI report finds it is unrealistic to expect blended finance to bridge the estimated SDG financing gap of $2.5 trillion a year in developing countries.
  • A new interactive tool from HarvestPlus helps identify where and for which staple crops biofortification can make the greatest impact on micronutrient deficiencies.
